From Past to Present
Istanbul Apparel Conference
Turkish Clothing Manufacturers’ Association (TGSD) was established in 1976 with the aim of supporting the growth and development of the apparel industry by providing guidance, promoting the businesses overseas and getting manufacturers cooperate with each other.
With annual production volume of USD 33,6 billion, total exports of USD 17 billion and total employment of almost 1 million (jointly with textile industry), garment manufacturing is one of the leading industries within the Turkish economy. TGSD has nearly 500 members generating the majority of Türkiye’s apparel export volume.
TGSD is the most inclusive NGO of the industry and the largest network for apparel and textile companies in Turkey. It brings all stakeholders of the garment supply chain together at the Istanbul Apparel Conference since 2008.
This year, the industry will come together with keynote speakers and experts from the UK, US, and EU countries to discuss and share good practices in traceability in the supply chain, the changing management styles of businesses, new legal regulations in the world, the impact of changing consumer demands on production and fashion with a sustainable, environmentally friendly approach, sustainability journeys of global brands and finally, impact of digital technologies on supply chain with a special focus on artificial intelligence.
On the second day of our Conference, brands, buying groups representing hundreds of global brands and finally e-export platforms will meet local manufacturers in a B2B network event and have the opportunity to establish new business connections. Last year more than 1.500 meetings were held on appointment basis.
